The Beacon Membership of Joliet is celebrating 70 years on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 5pm – 10pm with an Awards Ceremonial dinner to honor its starting individuals. The dinner party will probably be held at AFSCME Native 1866 Union Corridor 265 Republic Street, Joliet, Il.

Beacon Membership President James Shaw described the dinner party as a landmark tournament for the membership. “We first came together on December 17, 1954, with the goal of uniting our Black men together for a common cause to uplift the community. We attracted men from every walk of life, from judges and business owners to union members and civil servants. These were men of good character who shared a common belief that they can make a difference in the communities where they live and work.”

There are a couple of tickets nonetheless to be had touch the Beacon Membership 510 N. Chicago St. Joliet Illinois or name 815-727-4567.
