The kids have trick-or-treated, and as Americans sip Pumpkin Spice Lattes airlines are launching a slew of new sun runs to prepare for the colder weather and travelers eager for escape.

In Travel + Leisure’s latest highlights of the most exciting new routes, November has carriers big and small kicking off dozens of new routes to alluring spots in Florida, the Caribbean, and even Hawaii.

Going Big to Florida

American Airlines, plus discounters Allegiant Air, Avelo Airlines, and Breeze Airways, are adding new Florida routes this month.

American will launch three from New York LaGuardia to Fort Myers, Orlando, and Tampa beginning Nov. 5. Economy fares for the three-plus-hour flights that depart throughout the day start as low as $64 one way to Orlando and Tampa, and $79 one way to Fort Myers.

Allegiant is adding seven — yes, seven — new routes to the Sunshine State. The discounter will connect West Palm Beach to Grand Rapids, Mich., and Punta Gorda to Savannah from Nov. 14; Fort Lauderdale to Newburgh, N.Y., and Savannah, Destin to Flint, Mich., and St. Petersburg-Clearwater to Savannah from Nov. 15; and Sarasota to Portsmouth, N.H., from Nov. 23. Introductory fares for the new routes that operate only certain days of the week range from $39 to $69 one way.

Avelo is expanding in Lakeland, Fla., about halfway between Orlando and Tampa, with new nonstops to Atlanta, Hartford, and Wilmington, Del., beginning Nov. 7 and 8. Flights to Atlanta and Wilmington operate on Thursdays and Sundays, and to Hartford on Fridays and Mondays. In addition, on the same days Avelo will also add flights between Hartford and Daytona Beach on Fridays and Mondays, and Wilmington, N.C., and Fort Myers on Thursdays and Sundays. Introductory fares for the new routes range from $34 to $49 one way.

And Breeze is expanding rapidly in Sarasota. Beginning Nov. 20, the discounter will add five new routes from the city on Florida’s Gulf Coast to Akron-Canton, Ohio, and Portland, Maine, on Wednesdays and Saturdays; the next day to Islip on Long Island with flights on Thursdays and Sundays; and, on Nov. 22, to Raleigh-Durham and Richmond with flights on Fridays and Mondays. One-way airfares start as low as $49 to Akron-Canton and Richmond, and up to $79 to Portland.

Major Airlines Are Adding New Caribbean Links

American, Avelo, Delta Air Lines, and JetBlue Airways are all adding new Caribbean routes.

Barbados gains a new nonstop on American from New York JFK beginning Nov. 5, and on Delta from Atlanta beginning Nov. 23. The former flight departs JFK at 7 a.m. and arrives in Barbados at 12:44 p.m.. The latter departs Atlanta at 9:58 a.m. and lands at 3:35 p.m.

Delta also begins a new nonstop to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic from Atlanta on Nov. 23. The three-hour flight departs Atlanta at 11:25 a.m. and arrives at 3:30 p.m..

JetBlue, the largest U.S. airline to the Caribbean, adds a new flight to the Dutch island of Bonaire from New York JFK on Nov. 5. The flight departs New York at 7 a.m. and arrives a little after 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays with one-way fares starting at $99.

And Avelo is making a concerted push from Hartford, Connecticut, with several new routes including one to Montego Bay from Nov. 16. Flights depart the Nutmeg State at 7:20 a.m. and land in Jamaica a little over four hours later at 11:30 a.m. One-way fares start at $127.

New Options for Getting to Mexico’s Beaches

For travelers eager to hit Mexico’s beaches, Alaska Airlines and Avelo have two new flights. Alaska will return to La Paz in Baja California with flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Los Angeles beginning Nov. 20. Economy airfares for the flights that depart LAX at 10:35 a.m. and land shortly before 2 p.m. start at $232 one way. Alaska last flew the LAX-La Paz route from 1997 through 2013, data from aviation analytics firm Cirium Diio shows.

Avelo will offer Hartford travelers a new option to Cancun on Wednesdays and Saturdays beginning Nov. 20. Airfares start at $143 one way for the just over four-hour flight that departs Hartford at 6 a.m.

Delta Adds New East Coast Possibilities to Hawaii

Delta is expanding to Hawaii with new nonstops from Atlanta and Boston beginning Nov. 21. The airline will link Atlanta and Kahului on Maui (a route it last flew during the winter of 2022-23) daily with a flight that departs Delta’s hub a little after 1 p.m. and lands at 6 p.m. The carrier will connect Boston and Honolulu daily in about 11 hours departing New England at 10:15 a.m. and arriving in the islands at 4:41 p.m. Economy airfares for the Atlanta-Maui route start at $830 one way, and for the Boston-Honolulu route at $218.

United Lands in Medellin

United Airlines, after a blockbuster October expansion, will add the popular Colombian city of Medellin, to its map on Nov. 13. The carrier will connect Medellin with its Houston hub in four-and-a-half hours with a flight that departs Texas at around 4:30 p.m.
